For each individual measurement please provide information about:

If some of the above information is not already part of your data set, please use the METADATA section to incorporate it in your data submission.
In the METADATA section you might also want to provide explanations for codes or abbreviations used in your data set. All extra information that might help us understand your data set is, of course, higly appreciated. Thank you.
  • Date: all north american formats are acceptable;
  • Location = the name of the place where your study sites (i.e. permanent pipes) are;
  • State or Country: if in the U.S. please use only two letters;
  • Site name or number = name or number used to identify the physical place of a permanent pipe;
  • Environment: examples of Environments would include
    • salt marsh
    • freshwater tidal marsh
    • mangrove salt marsh
    • mudflat
  • Dominant vegetation type: please use scientific names only;
  • SET height: the distance between the top of the stationary pipe and the top of the plate.

METADATA

Example. For a data file that looks like this

you would need to provide for each site the following missing information:

site= M1, location=Cumberland Island, state=GA, env.=salt marsh, dom.veg.= spartina alterniflora;

and explanation for abbreviations:

E(pipe)NGVD=absolute measure of the inset pipe elevation to NGVD; Elev.=absolute measure of marsh elevation to NGVD.

The title will identify your data set uniquely in the database
